I wonder

Image
Tonight I saw my blog link  and decided to stop by and write some lines, and I wonder if people read it? do people read blogs still? with all the new apps and technologies are there still blog lovers?  I see I have some traffic but I barely have comments. my little request is that if you read me say 'hi" a bit about my present, a lot has changed and a lot still the same. I have been doing henna and very busy during wedding season  I really love going to mehndi parties, I love to see the decor, the outfits, the music and how everybody is so happy. sometimes it  is hard to believe that I have been in business for 9 years so far and loving it still. my eldest daughter graduated from high school, my son is past 21/2 years old , one thing that never change is that the time I have to write is late at night:) well I will try to keep this alive, I like reading things from the past. I may add photos of events or things I like and dislike

Hello there, September is a very special month because is the birthday of the person who brought me to this world, I have mixed feelings because it has been two years since I saw her and now with corona still with us is really difficult to make a decision whether to travel or not.   Our lives here has almost came back to normal, still with a lot of precautions but kids are back to school and back to their sport activities, I am also back doing henna since April. Life goes on, time did not stop because of the pandemic... So far this year I am very grateful to all my clients, some have come unexpectedly and right when needed. people has shown more kindness and I feel they are more giving. We all have been through our own bumpy roads we need more and more kindness. However There is one thing that bothers me and is people not wearing mask at indoor events, even vaccinated we can still get covid I do not understand why I have been told so many time "you do not need to wear a mask, we

2021

Its been a long time again, a complete year that I did not write anything here. 2020 was a year to remember, the first month I recall looking forward to doing all the gigs in my almost full calendar, two months later there was a lockdown and a massive wave of cancelations. Thanks to that, this year I am taking it easy one day at a time not getting excited but kind of... I am starting doing henna for clients in April, hopefully things get better by then, I have a new member in my family that needs my full attention and it is my great excuse to stay home. last year I did couple of events but nothing compared to previous years but thanks God for everything. This week MF is turning 7 years in business and I am very happy and proud of all the accomplishments.

The Fall

I have been away from blogging. Life is busy alhamdulilah in all aspects. I am very thankful to the creator for all the amazing stories he wrote for me. Everyday a new chapter that it never stops surprising me. I am blessed and thankful for everything and everybody in my life. But this blessing on my hands has changed my life and I will never feel the same after all these experiences that the Art of Henna has given and is giving me. Cheers for the 5 years and counting of my life with/in henna.

Henna for Myra

Image
Last month I had the honor to do bridal henna for a very important person in my life. Myra is like my niece. I know her for many years and she used to apply mehndi on my hands on eid. She used to do beautiful designs on my hands just for fun and because my hands were empty on eid. Over the years we became very close and specially on the gatherings at her home because she would chat with me all the time in English.  I can say the love for henna started there on those eids. Never did I think that one day I would be applying henna for her for her wedding.  So one night i received a message from Myra asking if we could talk on the phone. I said yea! Right now! So she called me and asked me to do her henna.  I was emotional and accepted the request. It is my honor!  The day arrived and Myra came to my home to get henna. I made her favorite dish “ empanadas” and invited her before starting the henna.  I had a great time doing her mehndi. It was special we chat over the whole pr
